FULHAM BEAT HULL FOR FIRST PREMIER LEAGUE WIN

SUN 18 OCT 2026

Fulham beat Hull 1-0 at Craven Cottage to claim their first Premier League victory of the season. Alex Iwobi scored the only goal in the first half. Fulham began the day in the bottom three and moved out of it with the win. Bournemouth and Tottenham were the other teams without a league victory at the start of the day. Alvaro Arbeloa said Fulham had earned the result after working hard for a win.

Hull failed twice to clear the ball before Iwobi shot past Konstantinos Tzolakis. His effort took a deflection off Lucas Herrington. Ryan Sessegnon received a red card late in the match for a challenge on Robinio Vaz. Arbeloa said Fulham had controlled long spells of earlier matches without turning their chances into goals. “We deserved it in other matches, but we couldn’t get it; today was finally the day,” he said.

Arbeloa said Fulham created many chances against Hull and gave their opponents no clear openings. He described Hull as a difficult team to beat. Fulham travel to Coventry next weekend before facing Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup. “It’s a massive week because we have Coventry, then Palace,” Arbeloa said. He said players coming off the bench would be important and urged his side to take more of their chances.
