HARRY AND MEGHAN DISCUSS THEIR CHILDREN IN NOTTINGHAM

SUN 18 OCT 2026 ROYAL

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke about their children during a joint visit to Nottingham on Thursday, 15 October. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Community Recording Studio on their first joint engagement since returning to Britain in August. Meghan joined girls at a confidence-building and bracelet-making workshop, where they discussed what made them feel most like themselves. When one participant mentioned gymnastics, Meghan said of Princess Lilibet: “Oh yeah. Our daughter is doing that too right now.”

Outside the studio, Harry spoke with schoolchildren about their classes. He told them Prince Archie had asked whether he could attend a school that “doesn't do maths” after the family moved to Britain. Harry said Archie encountered the subject immediately: “And then he went to this new school and on the first day, on the first class, guess what it was? Maths!” The children have been settling into their new lives in Britain since the family's return in late August.

Meghan also greeted members of the public outside the studio, telling them: “It’s great to be back.” She hugged Irene Hardman after Hardman showed her a framed photograph from the Sussexes’ 2017 Nottingham visit, their first joint official public appearance after announcing their engagement. The couple later visited Himmah Hub, a food poverty charity, where they put on aprons to help chefs prepare a chicken tagine lunch. Meghan approached cooks connected to Grenfell who were helping in the kitchen.
