CORDARRELLE PATTERSON FACES DOMESTIC ASSAULT CHARGE

SUN 18 OCT 2026 US SPORTS

Cordarrelle Patterson faces a domestic assault charge following his arrest early Saturday in Tennessee. An account of his jail booking identifies the charge but gives no details of the allegation. Patterson played in the NFL for 12 seasons and won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots. The available information does not give a court date or describe what led to the arrest.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Patterson in the first round of the 2013 draft. He later played for the Oakland Raiders, Patriots, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers. Patterson earned four Pro Bowl selections and seven All-Pro honours during his career. He was part of the Patriots team that beat the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

Patterson also played at running back later in his career, rushing for a combined 1,629 yards across three seasons with Atlanta and one with Pittsburgh. His 109-yard kickoff return for Minnesota against Green Bay on 27 October 2013 remains the longest in NFL history. The Steelers released Patterson with one year left on his contract. Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell then took over return duties, and Gainwell recorded 26 returns for 633 yards. The Steelers later named Gainwell their team MVP.
