CHARLOTTE CROSBY REPORTS SECOND MISCARRIAGE IN FIVE MONTHS
Charlotte Crosby has said she experienced a second silent miscarriage five months after her first. The former Geordie Shore star shared the news in an Instagram statement after an eight-week scan. Crosby said she and her fiancé, Jake Ankers, learnt last month that she was pregnant. “We lost another baby, another silent miscarriage,” she wrote. She said the scan showed that the baby’s heart had stopped beating.
Crosby and Ankers have two daughters, Alba Jean and Pixi, whose name is also spelt Pixie in accounts of Crosby’s statement. Crosby said they had been trying to grow their family when she took a positive pregnancy test. An earlier scan in this pregnancy had reassured them, she said, because their previous pregnancy had not reached that stage. She said they had begun to picture life with three children. A silent miscarriage can be discovered during an early pregnancy scan before symptoms begin.
Crosby shared her statement after the Wave of Light, an event marking the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week. She said the occasion prompted her to reflect on both losses. “I realised that maybe I haven’t really allowed myself to process everything that’s happened,” she wrote. Crosby said she had kept busy and tried to remain present for her daughters. She also said she and Ankers had looked forward to seeing them become older sisters.
