WELSH BARMAN WINS £3.5M CORNISH CLIFFTOP MANSION IN OMAZE DRAW

Darren Summers, a barman from Rhondda Fawr valley in South Wales, has won a £3.5 million clifftop mansion in Cornwall through an Omaze house draw. Summers learned of his victory whilst working a shift at his pub, when the Omaze team arrived to inform him of his win. He secured the winning entry for £20 through his Omaze subscription. Upon hearing the news, Summers announced that drinks would be complimentary for customers that evening.

The four-bedroom contemporary property sits on an acre of land above Downderry Beach and features sweeping sea views, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub. The mansion comes mortgage-free with all stamp duty and legal fees covered, and Summers has also received £250,000 in cash to assist with settling into the property. Summers and his wife Rebecca, who works as a Healthcare Support Assistant with the NHS, have lived in their current three-bedroom house for three years. Summers initially believed the call from Omaze was not genuine and continued working until colleagues informed him that a film crew had arrived outside the pub.

The prize represents a significant change for Summers, who noted that receiving the house constituted his "biggest tip ever" compared to the occasional drinks customers had previously bought him. Omaze, which runs regular property giveaways, has now completed this latest draw. The couple will relocate from their existing home in Wales to their new Cornish residence.
