SELMA BLAIR ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED ATTACK ON DELTA FLIGHT CREW

Selma Blair, known for Legally Blonde, Hellboy and Cruel Intentions, has been arrested and hospitalised after being accused of attacking two flight attendants aboard a Delta flight. The New York Port Authority said it responded to reports of "a physically abusive passenger" on Delta Flight 938, travelling from Los Angeles to New York, adding that two flight attendants were hurt, one of them hospitalised. The incident happened around 2300 local time on Sunday as the flight arrived at John F Kennedy International Airport, where Blair was taken into custody. The FBI said it is investigating "a potential assault aboard the flight" but gave no further details.

Blair's publicist said she "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct" and is now in stable condition. Flight crew allegedly restrained her, and air traffic control audio cited in reports quoted the pilot requesting medical staff, citing a "bloody nose as well as some bite marks". One report said Blair tried to open a cabin door, a claim not confirmed elsewhere, and it remains unclear whether she will face criminal charges. Blair stepped back from film work after a multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018, later announcing remission in 2021; she was also involved in a flight incident in 2016, for which she apologised.

Delta said law enforcement met the flight on arrival and that it caused no operational impact. The airline said it has "zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behaviour, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first." The FBI investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear whether New York prosecutors will bring charges against Blair. No further details on the flight attendants' injuries have been released.
