SHIPLEY TO MISS WEEKS FOR EAGLES WITH FOOT INJURY
Philadelphia Eagles running back Will Shipley is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a partial tear of his plantar fascia, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Shipley sustained the injury during the Eagles' defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles were already without starting running back Saquon Barkley and backup Tank Bigsby for that game. Following Shipley's injury, Dameon Pierce was left as the only fit running back available to the team.
The Eagles' running back unit has faced repeated setbacks early in the 2026 season, with three of their options sidelined by injury at the same time. Barkley and Bigsby were unavailable before Shipley was hurt, leaving the squad reliant on Pierce in Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Shipley's partial plantar fascia tear adds to the list of absences affecting the position group. The club has not given a precise return date beyond Schefter's report that he could be out for several weeks.
The Eagles are next scheduled to play at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. It remains unclear which running backs will be available for that fixture given the current injuries to Barkley, Bigsby and Shipley. Pierce is set to continue as the team's healthy option at the position in the meantime. No further timeline for the return of the injured players has been confirmed.
