AARON RODGERS OVERTAKES MANNING AND ROETHLISBERGER ON NFL LIST
Aaron Rodgers passed Peyton Manning into third place on the NFL's all-time touchdown passing list, including postseason play, during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 34-22 win over the Indianapolis Colts on 11 October. Rodgers entered the Week 5 game tied with Manning on 579 career touchdown passes. He broke the tie with an 80-yard throw to running back Jaylen Warren in the first quarter, then added two more touchdown passes to tight end Pat Freiermuth to reach 582. The milestone also moved him ahead of former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on the all-time list. Manning was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
Rodgers reached 579 touchdown passes after throwing three in the Steelers' Week 4 defeat by the Cleveland Browns. Against the Colts he completed 21 of 30 passes for 228 yards, recording at least three touchdown passes for a third straight game, a run last achieved by Terry Bradshaw. It was Rodgers' first streak of three consecutive three-touchdown games since his Most Valuable Player season in 2021. Warren, who broke away down the right sideline after a block from wide receiver DK Metcalf, finished with six catches for 87 yards and a touchdown, plus 84 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
The win took the Steelers to 3-2 for the season. Rodgers, who also played for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets before joining Pittsburgh in 2025, has built a career of individual records. Bradshaw, now a Fox Sports analyst, had previously criticised Rodgers' move to Pittsburgh, saying Rodgers should "go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there." Rodgers' latest milestone adds another entry to that record.
