CACH MERCER REVEALS STRICTLY RESULT BEFORE SHOW AIRS

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Cach Mercer disclosed that he had progressed to week four of the competition before the results show had been broadcast. The Love Island winner posted a photo from his dressing room captioned "Made it through to another week, praise God" after the results show had been recorded but before it aired on Sunday night. Fans pointed out that the episode had not yet been shown, and Mercer subsequently deleted the post. He later posted a message thanking viewers for their support, describing the couple's choice routine as challenging both physically and mentally.

Mercer and his dance partner, Maddie Ingoldsby, performed a routine on Saturday 10 October inspired by his background in street dance, set to Raye's "Beware.. The South London Lover Boy". The pair finished joint second on the judges' leaderboard with a score of 31. Mercer wrote that the dance paid tribute to years of work he had put into dance on the streets, and said he hoped it would encourage others on similar creative paths to continue. Strictly's results show is pre-recorded before airing on Sunday nights, a format that has applied since the show stopped broadcasting the second part of its weekend programming live.

Since 2007, the results show has been recorded with the same studio audience that watches the live Saturday broadcast, before airing later for the wider television audience. Because of this gap between recording and broadcast, the outcome of the bottom two and the identity of the eliminated contestant frequently becomes public on blogs and social media on Sunday mornings, ahead of the official broadcast. No further details on the current series' progress have been confirmed.
