Hull City and Everton drew 2-2 in the Premier League at the MKM Stadium. Substitute Mohamed Belloumi scored the equaliser in the 74th minute to secure a point for Hull. Everton's Brennan Johnson appeared to open the scoring in the 34th minute, converting after Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis failed to hold a shot from Thierno Barry. The goal was disallowed following a VAR review, leaving the match goalless at half-time. Hull broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half when Joe Gelhardt scored after an error by Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised for Everton seven minutes later. Barry, who had missed earlier chances, then put Everton ahead midway through the second half. Belloumi's goal in the 74th minute completed the scoring.
Hull had suffered their first defeat since returning to the Premier League in their previous outing, losing to Newcastle United in their last fixture before the international break. The draw at MKM Stadium kept Hull's unbeaten home record in the top flight intact. It also meant Everton remained unbeaten in the competition. Both clubs continue to enjoy strong starts to the season following the result. All four goals of the match came in an eventful second half, after the opening 45 minutes finished goalless following a disallowed effort.
