CLAYTON BEATS HUMPHRIES TO WIN SWISS DARTS TROPHY

Jonny Clayton beat Luke Humphries 8-4 in the final of the Swiss Darts Trophy in Basel, according to the BBC and Sky Sports. The win marked Clayton's first ranking title of the year and secured him a place in November's Grand Slam of Darts. Clayton, ranked world number five, reached the final after beating Rob Cross 6-4, Karel Sedlacek 6-2 and world number three Gian van Veen 7-4. Humphries, ranked world number two, progressed through the draw with wins over Krzysztof Ratajski (6-0), Cristo Reyes (6-3) and Mensur Suljovic (7-4).

The BBC reported that both players produced almost identical scoring averages in the final, with Humphries on 101.75 and Clayton on 101.68.
