KOEPKA AND BURNS SHARE LEAD AT CANADIAN OPEN
Brooks Koepka and Sam Burns occupy the joint lead after the first round of the Canadian Open in Toronto. Koepka carded a six-under 64, making eight birdies and two bogeys. Burns matched this score to secure a share of the lead heading into the second round.
Koepka's opening round represented one of his strongest performances since returning to the PGA Tour. He demonstrated consistent form throughout the eighteen holes, with the eight birdies offsetting his two dropped shots. Burns similarly positioned himself among the tournament favourites with an identical scorecard.
The leaderboard remains tightly contested after the opening day of competition. Both players will seek to build on their strong starts as the Canadian Open progresses through its remaining rounds. The tournament continues in Toronto with further play scheduled.
