TOM DALEY SHARES DRAG TRANSFORMATION INTO LADY GODIVA ALTER-EGO

Tom Daley has shared a video on Instagram showing his transformation into a drag persona called Lady Godiva. The diver posted the footage on Tuesday, 6 October, giving followers a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating the character. The clip shows stages of make-up application, including a full face of make-up applied over a wig cap. He is then shown fitting a padded bra before completing the look with a bespoke dress. Daley captioned the post: "Welcome to the stage… Lady Godiva, she's a really good diver. I still can't believe this is me! THANK YOU."

The post forms part of a wider body of content Daley shares with his Instagram followers beyond his sporting career. Lady Godiva is presented as an alter-ego distinct from his public profile as a diver who has competed for Great Britain at the Olympics. The caption plays on his diving background, pairing the historical name Lady Godiva with the phrase "she's a really good diver". The transformation involved several elements, including wigs, make-up and dresses that Daley described as bespoke. The video was shared directly with his followers rather than through a public appearance or interview.

Daley's post drew attention from entertainment outlets reporting on his social media activity. He described feeling disbelief at his own appearance, writing that he "still can't believe this is me" in the caption accompanying the clip. No further detail has been given about any public appearance of the Lady Godiva persona beyond the Instagram post itself. Daley continues to use the platform to share aspects of his personal life and creative projects with his audience.
