DEZ BRYANT REPLIES TO MICAH PARSONS' BROTHER AFTER COWBOYS WIN
The Dallas Cowboys beat the Houston Texans 34-30 in a Week Four fixture, with quarterback Dak Prescott credited for the win, according to reports. The result followed a 1-2 start to the season for the Cowboys. After the match, Cowboys legend Dez Bryant responded on social media to Terrence Parsons Jr., the brother of former Cowboys player Micah Parsons. Terrence Parsons Jr. had earlier predicted the Cowboys would be "blown out," adding that the team did not need Micah. Bryant replied simply, "Blown out?"
Terrence Parsons Jr.'s comments followed Micah Parsons' trade from the Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers, a move Terrence Parsons Jr. said the Cowboys' owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, decided after Micah Parsons was "robbed" during contract negotiations. Micah Parsons had publicly requested a trade, saying he no longer wanted to play for the Cowboys, after reports suggested the team could not meet his contract demands following two first-team All-Pro and four Pro Bowl selections. Bryant had previously praised Parsons for "standing his ground" during the dispute. Bryant drew a parallel with his own contract negotiations with Jones in 2015, when he was represented by Jay-Z's agency, Roc Nation.
According to Saad Yousuf of The Athletic, Jones said Jay-Z had negotiated directly with him over Bryant's contract at the time, recalling that Jay-Z insisted all his representatives be punctual for meetings. Jones said disruptions during those talks led him to bypass Parsons' agent and negotiate directly with Micah Parsons, which Parsons said had "compromised" their relationship. Micah Parsons was ultimately traded to the Packers in exchange for Kenny Clark and first-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027. He has since agreed a four-year contract extension with the Packers reported to be worth $186 million.
