VETTORI LOSES FIFTH STRAIGHT FIGHT AT UFC 332
Marvin Vettori lost a unanimous decision to Ismail Naurdiev at UFC 332, with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28 in Naurdiev's favour. The result extends Vettori's losing run to five consecutive fights. Vettori had opened the contest with sharp boxing combinations and leg kicks, while Naurdiev landed a right hand in the second round that briefly staggered him. Vettori recovered and pressed forward through the third round, repeatedly defending takedown attempts as Naurdiev appeared to tire, but the judges' scorecards went against him regardless.
Vettori previously challenged Israel Adesanya for the title at UFC 263 roughly five years ago, a bout that followed a five-fight winning streak, but Adesanya won that contest by unanimous decision. Vettori went on to beat Paulo Costa at UFC Vegas 41 and defeated Roman Dolidze at UFC 286, which remains his most recent win. Since then he has lost to Jared Cannonier, Dolidze in a rematch, Brendan Allen and Brunno Ferreira, before Saturday's defeat to Naurdiev.
The defeat leaves Vettori without a win in 2026 and facing questions over his position on the UFC roster, given he rarely finishes opponents. Sportskeeda reported that Vettori made a claim about having won the boxing exchanges during the fight. No further fights for Vettori have been confirmed following the result.
