TYSON FURY PLANS TO INVITE DONALD TRUMP TO JOSHUA FIGHT RINGWALK

SAT 03 OCT 2026 BOXING

Tyson Fury says he will ask Donald Trump to join him for his ringwalk against Anthony Joshua. The pair faced off for the first time on Wednesday after a mostly cordial press conference confirmed their "Battle of Britain" bout for 11 December at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. One report valued the fight at around £150 million. Fury said: "Definitely. I'll make that offer to my old buddy, old pal, and we'll see if he's available." He added that it was "probably unlikely" given Trump's position as US president.

Joshua wanted the fight held in the UK, while Fury took a more neutral stance, linked to his relationship with UFC chief and Zuffa Boxing co-founder Dana White, who wanted the bout in the United States. Fury has been a vocal supporter of Trump and appeared at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House in July, wearing a hat reading "Donald Trump for Prime Minister". That appearance came despite US visa issues linked to his past association with Daniel Kinahan, an alleged Irish crime figure and former boxing promoter. Fury said those visa issues were resolved after a joint effort by Trump and White.

Fury also said he was not concerned about the cold for a fight staged outdoors in December. He pointed to his appearance at WWE's Clash at the Castle event at the same stadium in 2022, which took place in the summer, as evidence he could cope with the conditions. The fight was confirmed this week after a long build-up, with Fury and Joshua meeting for the first time at Wednesday's press conference. Fury said he intends to contact Trump directly to ask him to be part of the ringwalk.
