NOTTINGHAM FOREST REJECT MANCHESTER CITY £122M BID FOR ELLIOT ANDERSON

THU 11 JUN 2026

Nottingham Forest have rejected Manchester City's second bid for midfielder Elliot Anderson, valued at £122m. City submitted an initial offer of £80m for the England international before returning with the improved proposal. Forest have declined the bid and are holding out for a fee of at least £125m before add-ons. That figure would match the current British transfer record, set by the fee paid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Anderson is an England midfielder currently contracted to Nottingham Forest. Manchester City's pursuit has intensified with two bids submitted in relatively quick succession. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has shown no indication of accepting below the £125m threshold. The club's position places the potential deal among the most expensive transfers in British football history.

Should the two clubs reach agreement at or above the £125m mark, it would equal the British record transfer fee. The gap between City's latest offer and Forest's asking price stands at £3m before any performance-related add-ons are factored in. No agreement has been confirmed, and negotiations remain ongoing. The outcome of the transfer will have significant implications for the British transfer record, which currently stands as a benchmark for the domestic market.
