TYREEK HILL SETS COLD-WEATHER CONDITION FOR NFL RETURN
Tyreek Hill has said he wants to play in cold weather as part of his planned return to the NFL, prompting a response from his former Miami Dolphins team-mate Jordan Poyer. Hill posted on social media that he believes he is "ready for some cold weather," fuelling speculation over which franchise he might join. Poyer, a first-team All-Pro who played alongside Hill at the Dolphins, said Hill was not being truthful about his tolerance for low temperatures. Poyer said he intended to contact Hill directly to discuss the claim. Hill is working towards a comeback after sustaining an ACL injury and a dislocated knee in September 2025 during a game against the New York Jets.
Poyer referred to the Dolphins' AFC Wild Card playoff defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2024, a game played in temperatures reported at around minus four degrees, which the Chiefs won 26-7. Poyer recalled that Hill played without a shirt on the sideline despite the cold, telling reporters at the time it was a "mindset." Hill later said the cold conditions during that game had been difficult for him to cope with. Hill separately posted that it was "almost time to get off the couch and get to work" as he continues his recovery.
Reports linked to Hill's comeback have named the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots as possible destinations, with both franchises lacking an established number one wide receiver on their rosters. Other suggestions raised by fans online included a move to the Buffalo Bills and a return to the Chiefs. No team has confirmed an agreement with Hill, and his comeback timeline has not been finalised.
