CHAD LOWE AND KIM PAINTER ANNOUNCE DEATH OF DAUGHTER FIONA, 13
Actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter have announced the death of their daughter, Fiona, who was 13. The couple shared a statement with multiple outlets on Tuesday confirming the news. Fiona was the second of the couple's three daughters. The family described her as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance" who was "adored by her sisters" and "deeply loved by her parents". The statement said Fiona "was the light of our lives" and asked for prayers and privacy. The family's statement also directed anyone struggling with mental health to contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Lowe is known for an Emmy-winning role in the ABC comedy-drama Life Goes On and for playing English literature professor Byron Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars. He is the brother of actor Rob Lowe, who starred in Parks and Recreation. Fiona's elder sister is Mabel Painter and her younger sister is Nixie Barbara. Lowe marked Fiona's most recent birthday on Instagram, posting a photograph of her with the caption "Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear!"
Fiona's death comes just over a year after the family lost their home in the Pacific Palisades fire in January 2025. Lowe wrote on Instagram at the time that his daughters had returned to see the remains of their home about a month after evacuating. He described their handling of the experience as "remarkable" and said he was "in awe of their spirit and resilience". Lowe said helping his daughters navigate difficult times was his "sole purpose". The family has asked for privacy following Fiona's death and has not provided further details.
