WOMAN ARRESTED FOR TRESPASS AFTER HIDING IN PARLIAMENT TOILET

THU 11 JUN 2026 CRIME

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of trespass at the Houses of Parliament after allegedly concealing herself inside a toilet cubicle when a public tour ended. The woman is reported to have remained in the building after the tour group departed. She evaded detection by hiding in a cubicle marked as under maintenance. Police subsequently found and arrested her.

The incident took place within the Palace of Westminster, the seat of the United Kingdom's Parliament. Public tours of the building are available to visitors and members of the public. The maintenance sign on the cubicle the woman allegedly used appears to have allowed her to avoid detection during any post-tour checks. The circumstances of how she was eventually discovered have not been confirmed.

The arrest highlights existing security procedures at one of the United Kingdom's most prominent public buildings. Parliament operates under significant security protocols given its role as the centre of British democratic government. The case is subject to ongoing police inquiries. No further details about charges or legal proceedings have been confirmed at this stage.
