SLIPKNOT FANS CRITICISE MARILYN MANSON TOUR SUPPORT SLOT

Slipknot have announced a new world tour for 2027, with Marilyn Manson confirmed as a support act for select dates, including the band's only UK and European show at Wembley Stadium on 3 July 2027. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, will appear alongside Lorna Shore and Hatebreed at Wembley, before he and Hatebreed rejoin Slipknot for dates on the South American leg in September. Some fans reacted with criticism on social media, citing past sexual and domestic abuse allegations made against Manson, all of which he has denied. Under an Instagram post announcing the Wembley line-up, one fan wrote there was "literally nothing" that would persuade them to spend money on Manson, while others called the booking "disappointing" and said they would not buy tickets. Other fans welcomed the announcement, pointing to a "huge fanbase overlap" between the acts and describing Manson as a "perfect support act".

Manson was publicly accused of abuse in 2021 by actress Evan Rachel Wood, his former partner, who alleged he had abused and manipulated her during their relationship and said she wanted to warn others. Several other women made similar accusations against him on social media at the time. Manson said the claims were "horrible distortions of reality" and maintained his relationships had "always been entirely consensual". Wood's allegations were later detailed in the 2022 documentary series Phoenix Rising. Manson subsequently sued Wood and another woman for defamation, accusing them of impersonating FBI agents and forging documents; a judge dismissed some of his claims, and he settled the case in 2024, agreeing to pay Wood's legal fees.

Slipknot and Manson have toured together previously, including a joint North American run in 2016 that also featured Of Mice & Men. Representatives for both acts have been approached for comment on the renewed criticism. The 2027 tour marks the bands' first confirmed dates together since that earlier run, with further stops planned across South America alongside the Wembley show.
