JET SKIER ARRESTED AFTER RIDING THROUGH FLOODED BANGKOK STREET

Police in Bangkok have arrested a man who rode a jet ski through a flooded street in the city, charging him with causing a public nuisance. Officers said they will ask a court to confiscate the jet ski. The arrest followed footage circulating on social media showing the rider manoeuvring through deep floodwater while bystanders stopped to watch and film the scene. The video captured the jet ski moving along a residential street submerged by the flooding.

The flooding has affected parts of the Thai capital following days of heavy rain, which has inundated roads, markets and homes. Thousands of residents have been forced into shelters, according to reports, while others have stayed behind to protect their properties and secure essential supplies. The scale of the flooding has left some streets deep enough for the jet ski to pass through unobstructed, drawing the attention of onlookers who documented the rider's route.

Police have not said when the case will be brought before a court, but confirmed they intend to seek confiscation of the vehicle as part of the public nuisance charge. The flooding response across Bangkok continues, with authorities and residents working to manage the ongoing disruption caused by the heavy rain. No further details on additional arrests or the broader flood response have been reported.
