AEW CONFIRMS DEATH OF WRESTLER PAC, BENJAMIN SATTERLEY
All Elite Wrestling has confirmed the death of its wrestler Pac, real name Benjamin Satterley, announcing the news on its social media channels in the early hours of Monday morning. In a statement, the promotion said it was saddened to announce the passing of Satterley, describing him as a native of Newcastle upon Tyne who began his wrestling career in 2004 and performed for organisations around the world. His death came roughly 24 hours after he wrestled on AEW's All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, where he lost to Andrade El Idolo in a match for the AEW National Championship. AEW said he captivated fans with innovative high-flying moves and in-ring ability throughout his career.
Before joining AEW, Satterley competed for WWE between 2012 and 2018 under the ring name Neville, winning the NXT Championship, the NXT Tag Team Championship and the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. His early aerial style earned him the nickname "The Man That Gravity Forgot". After signing with AEW in 2019, he adopted a new persona, "The Bastard Pac", built around a more grounded character. He went on to become AEW's inaugural All-Atlantic Champion and won the AEW World Trios Championship on two occasions, AEW said.
AEW said Satterley held multiple championships with the promotion and took part in some of its most memorable matches. According to Sportskeeda, wrestler Jade Cargill, who spent a long spell with AEW, said she was stunned by the news of his death. AEW's statement did not set out further details of the circumstances surrounding his death or confirm any further tributes or events planned in his memory.
