BAYERN MUNICH EYE MOVE FOR EVERTON GOALKEEPER JORDAN PICKFORD
Bayern Munich are considering a move for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in 2027, according to journalist Alan Nixon writing on his Patreon page. Nixon reports that Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has been gathering information on Pickford as the club prepares for the departure of Manuel Neuer, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Pickford has reportedly moved ahead of Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen on Bayern's list of potential targets. He remains under contract at Everton until 2029 after signing a new deal last year, and is reported to be among the better-paid goalkeepers in the Premier League.
Bayern have made a strong start this season, winning three of their opening four Bundesliga matches, progressing in the DFB Pokal, winning the German Super Cup and winning their opening Champions League group game. Everton have also started well, remaining unbeaten in their first five Premier League matches under manager David Moyes and reaching the fourth round of the EFL Cup. The club had a difficult summer transfer window, leaving the squad short of depth; a late move to sign a new striker collapsed even as forward Beto left to join Fiorentina.
Neuer has been Bayern's long-serving goalkeeper, and Nixon's report frames the interest in Pickford as part of the club's planning for his contract expiry. The report describes Bayern's interest as a surprise move, given Pickford's current contract at Everton. No transfer has been agreed, and any move would relate to the 2027 window rather than the present one. Everton have not issued a public response to the report. Kompany's assessment of Pickford is understood to be continuing as Bayern weigh up options to succeed Neuer.
