BOOK DETAILS BRADY AND BÜNDCHEN'S FINAL RECONCILIATION ATTEMPT

A forthcoming biography of Tom Brady describes a final attempt he made to save his marriage to Gisele Bündchen before their 2022 divorce, according to the book, as reported by an American outlet. The book, Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness by Lars Anderson, is due for release on 29 September 2026 and states that Brady left Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp for 11 days in 2022 to meet Bündchen, telling coach Clyde Christensen he needed to "take care of some personal things." Christensen said that when Brady returned, he was "an empty shell of who he was," adding that "there was no joy" and "everything was hard work." The couple, who married in 2009, separated in 2022. The book alleges Bündchen, whom it describes as having an interest in astrology, told Brady she had concluded they were "not compatible" after consulting the stars, with Christensen saying she was "done, just like that."

The book claims Brady's reluctance to retire from football was central to the split, stating Bündchen wanted him to spend more time with their family later in his career, and that she had asked him to retire during both the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Brady retired following the 2022 season, having won seven Super Bowl titles, and said on Fox that the divorce affected his "ability to continue to play." Bündchen discussed the separation in a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, describing it as "a death and a rebirth" and saying she mourned "the death of my dream." She said that she and Brady had wanted a family together when they met, but "as time goes by, we realise that we just wanted different things."

Brady and Bündchen share two children, Benjamin and Vivian, and are reported to have remained on amicable terms. Brady also has a son with former partner Bridget Moynahan. A separate report said former NFL player Antonio Brown claimed credit for the couple's divorce following the book's revelations. The biography is scheduled for publication next year.
