DENMARK WARNS RUSSIA COULD ATTACK NATO NATION WITHIN MONTHS

Denmark's defence intelligence service has warned that Russia could carry out a limited military attack against a Nato country within months, in one of the starkest assessments yet issued by a western security service. A report published on Thursday said there was a "low but growing risk" of Russia launching long-range strikes on Nato infrastructure that supports Ukraine, or carrying out a small-scale incursion into a neighbouring country, potentially using troops without insignia. The warning came hours after a fire broke out at a Starlink satellite station in Poland's Masovian voivodeship, which local authorities described as an "act of sabotage". Poland's deputy prime minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said the blaze had been "deliberately designed to disable the station" and had disrupted internet access for several institutions, including the Ukrainian military.

Gawkowski said it had not yet been established who was responsible for the fire, but that "many signs suggest this aligns with Russia's new doctrine of attack". He said Polish prime minister Donald Tusk had recently described such incidents as part of a pattern of hybrid warfare. Starlink has become a significant part of Ukraine's military communications network. The incident is one of a series of suspected sabotage operations reported across European infrastructure linked to support for Ukraine in recent months.

Earlier this month, Germany said Russia was responsible for an attempted drone attack on Leipzig/Halle airport. Other episodes under investigation for possible links to Moscow include fires at drone factories and sabotage affecting rail infrastructure, according to reports from affected countries. Danish intelligence's assessment adds to a series of warnings from Nato member states about the risk posed by Russia to alliance territory. No further details on specific countries or timings were given in the report.
