REAL MADRID LINKED WITH MANCHESTER UNITED TEENAGER JJ GABRIEL

Manchester United's teenage player JJ Gabriel is approaching what has been described as a crucial point in his career, according to a report, with Real Madrid named among the European clubs interested in signing him. The report said Barcelona are also among the clubs in the race for Gabriel, and that his forthcoming 16th birthday is a significant factor in the situation. A separate report citing Friday's newspapers said Barcelona are not interested in signing the Manchester United player. The two accounts give differing versions of Barcelona's interest in Gabriel.

The same coverage included further updates on other transfer and football matters, though without full detail. It referred to developments involving Michael Carrick and Roberto De Zerbi, and to Martin O'Neill's future at Celtic. Movement in the free-agent market was also mentioned. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were reported to have interest in the striker Igor Matanović.

The coverage also included an assessment of the Premier League season, addressing Manchester City's start, Chelsea's form under Xabi Alonso, and difficulties facing Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Attention turned to the England team ahead of a fixture against Spain, with reference made to Morgan Rogers and Thomas Tuchel. Alan Pardew, formerly manager of Newcastle United, West Ham United and Southampton, took part in a separate interview as part of the same coverage. No timeframe was given for when Gabriel's transfer situation might be resolved.
