DARCY GRAHAM RULED OUT OF SCOTLAND AUTUMN SERIES WITH BICEP INJURY
Scotland's record try-scorer Darcy Graham will miss the autumn internationals after suffering a bicep injury, Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt has confirmed. The 29-year-old winger, who has scored 38 tries in 57 caps, sustained a rupture in a collision that Everitt described as "pretty freakish." Everitt said Graham faces at least 12 weeks on the sidelines as he recovers. "That's not good news for us and not good news for him, especially with the autumn series coming up," Everitt said.
Graham's absence rules him out of Scotland's Nations Championship fixtures at home to New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Scotland face New Zealand at Murrayfield on 7 November, before hosting Australia and Japan in Edinburgh on the following two weekends. The inaugural Nations Championship series concludes with a finals weekend at Twickenham on 27 and 28 November. Graham had been in line to add to his try-scoring record during the series.
In the summer, Scotland beat Argentina and Fiji either side of a 42-28 defeat in South Africa, results that leave Gregor Townsend's side second behind France in the northern hemisphere standings. Everitt's comments came as part of Edinburgh's injury update on the winger. Scotland will now have to approach the autumn campaign without their leading try-scorer as they continue their Nations Championship campaign.
