TONY STEWART CONFIRMS NASCAR TRUCK SERIES RETURN AT TALLADEGA

Kaulig Racing has announced that Tony Stewart, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, will return to competition at Talladega Superspeedway on 23 October. Stewart will drive the No. 25 Ram 1500 in the Craftsman Truck Series race, marking his first NASCAR appearance in more than seven months. The announcement came via a video posted on X by Kaulig Trucks, featuring a scripted exchange between Stewart and Tim Kuniskis, a former Dodge chief executive, in which Kuniskis repeatedly asked Stewart to drive for the team before revealing the Talladega date. Kaulig Racing released a statement from Stewart confirming his participation alongside the video.

The Talladega race will be Stewart's second Truck Series outing of the season, following his appearance at Daytona in February, which marked Ram's return to NASCAR competition. His involvement forms part of Ram's "Free Agent Driver Program", which rotates veteran and emerging drivers through the No. 25 truck across the season. In his statement, Stewart said Daytona had been enjoyable and that the Talladega appearance would focus on helping Kaulig Racing gather data and improve performance on superspeedway tracks. He added that Ram had invested significant effort into its NASCAR return and expressed hope that his experience would help the team refine its drafting strategy.

Stewart and Kuniskis have worked together since 2022, when Kuniskis helped bring Dodge and SRT into partnership with Tony Stewart Racing in NHRA drag racing competition. Kuniskis was also the person who approached Stewart about returning to NASCAR when Ram confirmed its entry into the Craftsman Truck Series. According to Kaulig Racing, Stewart described the chance to race a Ram truck at Talladega as an opportunity he would always accept. The race is confirmed for 23 October at Talladega Superspeedway.
