WILLIAM AND KATE JOIN TOM CRUISE AT DIGGER FILM PREMIERE

WED 23 SEP 2026 ROYAL

Prince William and the Princess of Wales, Kate, attended the premiere of the film Digger at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in central London, according to reports. Tom Cruise escorted Kate into the cinema, holding her hand and helping her down the stairs, the coverage said. The screening took place on Tuesday evening, 22 September. One report described it as a Royal Film Performance screening, characterising Digger as a satirical black comedy. Before entering the venue, William and Kate paused for photographs alongside David and Victoria Beckham, according to the reports.

Kate wore a purple, floor-length gown by the designer Jenny Packham, the reports said. She accessorised the dress with earrings that had belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and an amethyst sautoir necklace previously worn by the Queen Mother, according to the coverage. The red carpet also featured other public figures, including the Beckhams, alongside William and Kate. The screening raised money for the Film and TV Charity.

The Film and TV Charity states that its work focuses on creating healthier and more supportive working environments within the film and television industry, according to the reports. The premiere aimed to raise funds for that work, according to the reports. The event drew a number of stars from the entertainment industry alongside the royal couple, according to the coverage. William and Kate's attendance formed part of a wider red carpet event at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square that also included Cruise and the Beckhams.
