SABRINA WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES SOLO TOUR AFTER MIS-TEEQ REUNION
Sabrina Washington has announced a solo headline tour, one week after Mis-Teeq reunited for a sold-out show at Wembley Arena on 12 September. Washington said the group has chosen not to continue with further reunion shows. Fellow member Su-Elise Nash said she was blindsided by the announcement, adding that the band had been making plans to perform at festivals. Mis-Teeq also includes Alesha Dixon. The tour, titled "A One Night Stand Just Ain't Enough", takes its name from a lyric in the group's hit "Scandalous".
Mis-Teeq was a Brit-nominated girl group formed of Washington, Dixon and Nash, and became one of the most successful UK acts of the 2000s with hits including "Scandalous" and "All I Want". The group split in 2005 following the collapse of their record label, after which its members pursued solo careers. Washington's tour will revisit some of Mis-Teeq's biggest hits alongside songs from her solo career. Press material describes the show as "much more than a traditional greatest hits show", featuring DJs, dancers and special guests. Different guests are expected to appear across the run, according to the press release, celebrating the wider UK garage and R&B scene from which the group emerged.
Washington said the reaction to the Mis-Teeq reunion had been "overwhelming", adding that the songs continued to mean a great deal to fans 25 years on. She said she had received messages from people asking whether the tour would visit Manchester, Birmingham and Scotland. According to the press release, the tour aims to recreate the atmosphere of early-2000s club nights for audiences in 2027. Nash's comments about the band's festival plans have not been addressed by Washington or the group.
