MOHAMED SALAH GIVEN SIX-MONTH DRIVING BAN OVER SPEEDING CASE
Mohamed Salah has been banned from driving for six months after his Rolls-Royce was recorded speeding in Cheshire. Court documents show the car was caught by a speed camera travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow on 27 March. Salah was prosecuted by Cheshire Police for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver, having not told police who was behind the wheel at the time. He did not respond to the notice of prosecution and did not enter a plea to the charge. At a hearing at Warrington Combined Court, he was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay £1,044.
A court spokeswoman said Salah was prosecuted under the Single Justice Procedure, under which magistrates sit in private hearings, and was convicted of the offence. The speeding incident occurred days before Liverpool announced, on 24 March, that Salah would be leaving the club after nine years. The club described him as having "firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool's history". During his time at Liverpool, Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances. He had served as Egypt's captain during this period.
According to reports, Salah is set to transfer to Turkish side Trabzonspor following the 2025-26 season. No further legal proceedings relating to the driving ban have been reported. The £1,044 penalty and six-month ban were confirmed as the outcome of the Warrington Combined Court hearing. No additional court dates have been disclosed in connection with the case.
