DEION SANDERS DECLARES HIMSELF CANCER-FREE AHEAD OF COLORADO SEASON

Deion Sanders has announced he is free of cancer following treatment for a cancerous mass discovered in his bladder. Sanders made the disclosure publicly, describing the period as a tumultuous battle. The diagnosis had prompted him to draft a will for his children. He is now reported to be in full health heading into his fourth year as head coach at the University of Colorado.

Doctors identified the cancerous mass during what Sanders described as a routine hospital check. The discovery represented a significant health scare for the Colorado Buffaloes coach, who characterised the experience as unlike any challenge he had previously faced. Sanders has spoken openly about the fear the diagnosis caused him. The update confirming his recovery comes ahead of the 2026 college football season.

Sanders' return to full health clears the way for him to continue leading Colorado into the upcoming campaign. His announcement confirms he is fit and available as preparations for the 2026 season begin. Colorado's programme enters its fourth year under his leadership. Sanders has indicated he is thankful to be in good health as the team looks ahead.
