JONNY CLAYTON BEATS LUKE LITTLER TO END CLEAN SWEEP BID

SUN 20 SEP 2026 DARTS/SNOOKER

Jonny Clayton beat Luke Littler 10-4 in the quarter-finals of the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam, ending Littler's bid to win all ten major PDC televised tournaments in the 2026 calendar year. Littler had won the first five such events this year and was seeking to become the first player to complete a clean sweep of all ten. The defeat in the last eight brings that pursuit to a close for this year. Clayton's win sets up a semi-final meeting with Gerwyn Price on Sunday evening.

Littler had reached the quarter-finals with a 10-9 win over Nathan Aspinall on Saturday night. The contest with Clayton was close in its early stages, with Clayton levelling the match at 3-3 by completing a checkout of 136. Clayton then took control of the match and sealed victory with a checkout of 40 to secure the 10-4 scoreline. The result sends Clayton into the semi-finals, where he will face Price. The final of the tournament will be contested over the best of 21 legs.

Price booked his place in the semi-finals with a 10-7 win over James Wade, recording an average of 103.86 during that match. In the other semi-final, Ross Smith will face Gian van Veen for a place in the final. Smith reached his first World Series of Darts Finals semi-final by beating Josh Rock 10-7. Van Veen advanced after recovering from an 8-6 deficit to beat Dirk van Duijvenbode 10-8. The semi-finals and final are scheduled to take place in Amsterdam on Sunday evening.
