ENGLAND COMPLETE 3-0 T20 SERIES SWEEP OVER SRI LANKA

England beat Sri Lanka by nine wickets at Emirates Old Trafford to complete a 3-0 whitewash in their T20 series. The win returned England to the top of the T20 world rankings. Sky Sports described the victory as England's most emphatic of the series, following a run of one-sided results against the tourists. BBC Sport reported that England "steamrolled" and "crushed" Sri Lanka to seal the series.

The result marks the third consecutive win for England over Sri Lanka in the format during this series. Sky Sports characterised the series as a set of "drubbings" dished out by England to their opponents, with the nine-wicket margin at Old Trafford the largest of the three matches. Both outlets confirmed the venue as Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. Neither report detailed individual batting or bowling performances from the match.

The victory restores England to number one in the T20 international world rankings. No further fixtures between the two sides were mentioned in the reports. Both BBC Sport and Sky Sports confirmed the ranking outcome as a direct result of the series sweep.
