RAMS WR PUKA NACUA MISSES PRACTICE WITH HIP INJURY

SAT 19 SEP 2026 US SPORTS

The Los Angeles Rams added wide receiver Puka Nacua to their injury report on Friday after he missed practice with a hip problem, according to the team. It remains unclear whether the injury is connected to psoas soreness that forced Nacua to leave a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys early on 13 August. Nacua had not appeared on the injury report ahead of the Rams' Week One game. Backup receiver Jordan Whittington also sat out Friday's session with a quad injury. The absences come as the Rams prepare for an upcoming fixture against the New York Giants, according to one report.

The psoas is a deep core muscle that acts as a primary hip flexor, meaning a strain there can affect a player's movement and power. Several other Rams players were also affected by injury on Friday. Safety Kamren Kinchens missed practice entirely with a hamstring problem, while safety Kam Curl, inside linebacker Omar Speights and inside linebacker Nate Landman were listed as limited participants, with ankle, hip and shoulder issues respectively. Wide receiver Davante Adams returned to practice after being given a rest day on Thursday.

One report said the Rams' game against the Giants would also see Aaron Donald return, though it did not specify in what capacity. The Rams' coaching staff are expected to continue monitoring Nacua and the other affected players in the days before that fixture. No timetable for Nacua's return has been confirmed. The extent of his hip injury, and any link to the psoas problem sustained in August, remains unclear.
