BO NIX SAYS BRONCOS NOT PANICKING AFTER WEEK ONE DEFEAT
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said the team is not panicking after an 0-1 start to the NFL season. Denver lost 31-10 to divisional rivals the Kansas City Chiefs in the opening week of the campaign. Nix threw an interception and lost one of three fumbles during the game. He was also sacked four times, and the Broncos gained only 176 total yards. Speaking on Thursday, Nix said the team would not "press the panic button" following the defeat. His remarks were published via the Broncos' official website.
Nix said the Broncos are "not starting from scratch" after the loss, adding that the team still believes it is built the right way for success. He said the side remains "in a good spot" but "didn't play great by any means" and needs to "play better". The defeat came on the road against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Denver is now preparing to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in its home opener. Jacksonville began its season with a home win over the Cleveland Browns.
According to the report, Jacksonville also beat Denver in Denver during the previous NFL season. It noted that few teams have historically gone on to reach the playoffs after starting a season 0-2, without citing specific figures to support this. No changes to the Broncos' lineup or game plan have been confirmed ahead of the Jaguars fixture. Sunday's result will determine whether Denver avoids a second consecutive defeat to open the season.
