DAVID HARBOUR RESPONDS TO LILY ALLEN BREAK-UP ALBUM WEST END GIRL
Actor David Harbour has publicly addressed ex-wife Lily Allen's break-up album *West End Girl*, describing it as "weird" and disputing her account of their marriage. Harbour told Variety that Allen's portrayal did not reflect his own experience of the relationship. The pair separated in late 2024 and confirmed their break-up in February 2025. Harbour said he respects Allen's right to use personal experience to create art but declined to comment further, citing the importance of his private life.
Allen's album *West End Girl* has received critical acclaim and contains lyrics referencing extramarital activity and emotional manipulation. Allen has acknowledged that the record contains both "fact and fiction" and has urged fans not to treat the lyrics as a definitive account. In March, Allen performed the track *4Chan Stan* wearing a gown constructed from fabric printed with lyrics and receipts, which she said represented purchases a partner had made for other women. The alleged receipts included items from tequila bars and the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman.
Harbour stated that he values his privacy and that of those around him, and said he would not speak further about the matter publicly. He acknowledged that "stories are complex" whilst maintaining that Allen's version of events did not match his own. Allen has not publicly responded to Harbour's comments. The album remains in release.
