PENNY LANCASTER DESCRIBES HOW SHE AND ROD STEWART COMMUNICATE

THU 17 SEP 2026

Penny Lancaster has described how she and her husband, Rod Stewart, have kept their relationship strong over 28 years together. She made the comments during an appearance on the ITV panel show Loose Women on 17 September. Lancaster said the couple communicate well and have agreed to address problems directly rather than let them build up. "We're really good at communicating," she said, adding that she and Stewart have "a pact about flushing things out, not holding onto things and being honest, and that helps grow trust." She also said the pair avoid arguing after drinking alcohol, saying "things are said that you don't really mean."

Lancaster and Stewart met in 1999 and married in 2007, and the couple have two children together. Lancaster spoke openly about her marriage during the Loose Women appearance, focusing on how the pair resolve disagreements. Separate coverage of the same appearance reported that Lancaster said she remains attracted to her husband. The comments were made in response to questions about maintaining a long-term relationship.

Lancaster's remarks centred on honesty and communication as the basis for the couple's approach to disagreements. She did not detail specific instances in which the pact had been tested, according to the report. No further comments from Stewart on the matter were included. The appearance formed part of a broader discussion on the programme about relationships.
