PATRICK CLANCY BREAKS SILENCE AFTER MURDER TRIAL COLLAPSE

THU 17 SEP 2026 CRIME

Patrick Clancy has spoken publicly for the first time since the murder trial of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, ended without a verdict. In an interview with 60 Minutes due to air in full on Sunday, Clancy said he still speaks to his three children, who died in January 2023, "all the time." Asked what he says to them, he replied "Help me," according to a clip released by the programme on Thursday. Clancy will appear alongside his new wife, Dr Rachel Danis, for part of the interview.

Lindsay Clancy was accused of killing the couple's three children - Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, eight months - at the family's home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023. She attempted suicide after the killings, an act that left her partially paralysed. Her defence team argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and could not be held criminally responsible for her actions. Prosecutors contended she was lucid and aware of her actions when she killed the children. The trial ended in a mistrial on 4 September after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Clancy married Danis after the deaths of his children, according to the programme's preview clip. Their joint appearance marks a rare public glimpse into his life since the trial collapsed. The programme has not detailed what further topics the pair will discuss once the full episode airs. The case has drawn continued attention in the United States for its focus on postpartum psychosis as a possible defence to murder charges. The full interview is confirmed to air on 60 Minutes this Sunday.
