UFC FIGHTER JOSH HOKIT TARGETS MADISON BEER AFTER CHARGERS DEFEAT

Josh Hokit, a UFC heavyweight fighter, addressed Madison Beer directly in a social media video after her fiancé Justin Herbert's Los Angeles Chargers lost to the Arizona Cardinals on 13 September. Beer had posted a reaction clip cheering for the Chargers during the game, and Hokit responded with his own video referencing her. In it, he asked Beer: "Do you want a man who doesn't lose to the weak-a** Cardinals?" Herbert faced criticism in reports for his performance as the Chargers were beaten. Beer had not publicly responded to Hokit's comments at the time of reporting.

Beer became engaged to Herbert in late July, after the couple had been dating for a year. Hokit previously played in the NFL himself, spending time with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 before joining the Arizona Cardinals, who released him during roster cuts. According to Sportskeeda, social media users criticised Hokit's remarks towards Beer, with one response quoted as saying she was "not interested in chubby losers." Hokit has directed similar comments at other people's partners before, including a previous proposal aimed at online personality Piper Lee. Beer has said in past interviews that she has received unsolicited romantic attention from men because of her online profile.

No response from Herbert, Beer or the Chargers had been reported following Hokit's post. Hokit's history of public remarks about other people's partners has previously drawn attention on social media, according to reports. It remains unclear whether Hokit intends to address the criticism directed at him over the video. Beer and Herbert have not announced a wedding date since confirming their engagement in July.
