KESELOWSKI AND DICKERSON TRADE THREATS OVER RACING INCIDENT
Brad Keselowski and Jeff Dickerson have exchanged public warnings following a collision between Keselowski and Carson Hocevar at Darlington. Hocevar, driving for Spire Motorsports, spun out after contact with Keselowski's car. Dickerson, who owns Spire Motorsports, stated in an interview that if Hocevar were taken out and affected Spire's Chase qualification prospects, "there will be a commensurate response". Keselowski dismissed Dickerson's remarks, telling media on Saturday at the World Wide Technology Raceway: "Bring it. I'll fight back with anybody in the garage. I am not afraid of that."
Dickerson outlined specific concerns about Keselowski's driving during the Darlington race. He alleged that Keselowski held Hocevar up on fresher tyres for 12 laps and "knew what he was doing" ahead of the spin. Dickerson also referenced the possibility that retaliation could extend to other RFK Racing drivers still competing in the Chase, including Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece. Keselowski responded by suggesting he was not interested in "comments from people who aren't in the race cars", indicating his focus remained on on-track competition rather than management discussions.
Keselowski declined to specify how he would approach future racing against Hocevar, stating: "You live, and you figure it out in the moment, and it'll play out however it plays out." The dispute reflects broader tensions within NASCAR's Chase playoff structure regarding acceptable competitive conduct between drivers pursuing championship qualification.
