SCHADE DOUBLE DENIES ROSE FIRST WIN AS BOURNEMOUTH DRAW WITH BRENTFORD
Bournemouth drew 2-2 with Brentford at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, denying manager Marco Rose a first Premier League victory since his summer appointment. Bournemouth twice took the lead through Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier, but Kevin Schade scored twice for the visitors to secure a draw. The result marked the fourth consecutive league match in which Bournemouth have surrendered a winning position under Rose.
Schade opened the scoring in the 34th minute, heading in a cross from Yegor Yarmolyuk after Brentford won possession in opposition territory. Bournemouth equalised when Kluivert capitalised on defensive errors, before Tavernier put the home side ahead. Schade then lobbed his second goal past goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic following a poor pass from the Bournemouth goalkeeper. The match also featured missed opportunities from Bournemouth's Antonio Silva and Rayan, while substitute Ben Gannon-Doak struck the post in stoppage time. Brentford remain unbeaten this season with three consecutive draws yielding six points from a possible 12, while Bournemouth have accumulated three points.
Bournemouth begin their Europa League campaign against Real Sociedad on Thursday. The result marks Bournemouth's ninth Premier League meeting with Brentford, with the south-coast club yet to secure a top-flight victory over the London side.
