SAFFIE OSBORNE BECOMES FIRST FEMALE JOCKEY TO WIN BRITISH CLASSIC

Saffie Osborne became the first female jockey to win a British Classic, riding Highwayman to victory in the St Leger at Doncaster. The race, known as the Betfred St Leger, marked its 250th running. Osborne's win represents the first time a woman has secured victory in one of Britain's five Classic horse races.

The St Leger is one of the five British Classics, the most prestigious races in flat racing. The other four Classics are the Two Thousand Guineas, One Thousand Guineas, Derby and Oaks. Osborne's achievement came in the historic 250th edition of the Doncaster race.

The victory marks a significant milestone in British horse racing. No female jockey had previously won any of the five British Classics since the races began. Osborne's success on Highwayman opens a new chapter in the sport's record books.
