WEST HAM BEAT WREXHAM 6-0 TO TOP CHAMPIONSHIP
West Ham defeated Wrexham 6-0 at the London Stadium to return to the top of the Championship. The victory marked the club's fourth consecutive league win and came with six different goalscorers. Jarrod Bowen scored after 28 minutes, with Joël Piroe adding a second before half-time. Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kanté and Manor Solomon scored in the second half.
The performance demonstrated attacking prowess from Nuno Espírito Santo's side following their relegation from the Premier League. West Ham had failed to win any of their first three games after dropping to the second tier. Wrexham offered minimal resistance; Mavropanos cleared a George Dobson effort off the line when Mads Hermansen was beaten, representing the closest the visitors came to scoring. Anthony Patterson made a reflex save to deny Castellanos early on, and later raced from his goal to smother Manor Solomon's shot in the opening minutes of the second half.
The dominant display illustrated West Ham's adjustment to Championship football after their top-flight struggles. Castellanos had spurned an early opportunity, heading wide from Solomon's cross from six yards out, before Bowen opened the scoring by guiding Morato's cross into the far corner. The margin of victory left no doubt as to which side controlled proceedings throughout.
