AARON RODGERS DISPUTES DANICA PATRICK ACCOUNT OF RELATIONSHIP
Aaron Rodgers has offered an account of his relationship with racing driver Danica Patrick that differs from her previous public statements about their split. Speaking on the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Rodgers stated that Patrick was struggling emotionally after retiring from racing and that the relationship lacked intimacy before they separated. He said he remained with her to be a good partner but that the relationship was heading in a certain direction. Rodgers recounted that when Patrick asked whether he would buy a house in Malibu together, he declined.
Patrick and Rodgers became publicly linked in January 2018, following the end of their respective previous relationships. Patrick had ended a five-year relationship with NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., while Rodgers had split from actress Olivia Munn after three years together. The couple had known each other for years, having met at the ESPYs in 2012 where Rodgers gave Patrick his email address. They separated in July 2020, roughly two years after their relationship became public.
In May 2025, Patrick appeared on the Sage Steele Show and offered her own characterisation of the split. She stated that "everything was torn to bits" and described Rodgers as leaving "a trail of blood," suggesting a painful end to the relationship. Patrick retired from professional racing in 2018 following her final Indianapolis 500 start.
