OLISE SCORES TWICE AS BAYERN THRASH BODO/GLIMT 5-0
Bayern Munich defeated Bodo/Glimt 5-0 in their opening UEFA Champions League match at the Allianz Arena. Michael Olise scored twice for the hosts, whilst Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies each added one goal. Bayern remained goalless at half-time before scoring five goals without reply in the second half.
Olise's first goal came from a left-footed curling strike from 25 yards that passed the Bodo/Glimt goalkeeper. He scored his second goal in added time from the edge of the box. Kane's goal took his Champions League tally to 55 goals. Olise received the Man of the Match award following the victory. Bayern Munich, managed by Vincent Kompany, entered the tournament as one of the pre-tournament favourites to win the competition.
The result marked Bayern's opening fixture in this season's Champions League campaign.
