OASIS ANNOUNCE TOUR DATE WITH MANCHESTER DRONE DISPLAY
Oasis used a drone display over Manchester on Thursday evening to announce the date and time of an upcoming tour announcement. The formation showed the band's logo followed by the date 14.09.26 and the time 4pm BST, indicating when the announcement is expected to occur. The display took place above the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City Women, with Oasis later sharing an official video of the spectacle soundtracked by their 2008 single The Shock Of The Lightning. The band reunited last year for the Live '25 tour following their split in 2009.
Rumoured venues for the 2027 tour include a 12-night residency in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium, Celtic Park in Glasgow, and Knebworth in Hertfordshire, where Oasis played to 250,000 people in 1996. Recent weeks have seen the band release video teasers hinting at other locations including Paris, Amsterdam and Rome. The drone display was created by graphic design company Microdot, which designed Oasis's iconic band logo and has produced various artworks for the group. Last year, Oasis used similar drone spectacles in multiple cities ahead of their reunion tour dates.
The announcement follows the release of the documentary Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger on Wednesday, written by Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders. The project combines concert footage and documentary material, featuring the first joint interviews between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher in more than 20 years. Oasis have achieved eight UK number one singles and eight UK number one albums, with Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Roll With It among their best-known tracks. The formal tour announcement is expected on 14 September at 4pm BST.
