49ERS ROOKIE STRIBLING CARTED OFF WITH ANKLE INJURY IN NFL DEBUT
San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling sustained an ankle injury during his NFL debut and was ruled out of the match. Stribling pulled up while running a route with 7 minutes 16 seconds remaining in the first half. He was unable to place weight on his left leg and required assistance to reach the sideline medical tent before being carted to the X-ray room. The 49ers subsequently ruled him out with an ankle injury.
The injury occurred early in Stribling's first game at professional level. Stribling could not bear weight on his left leg after the incident during the opening half. The team initially listed him as questionable to return before confirming his removal from play. The timing of the injury — in the first half of his debut — ended his participation in the match.
49ers tight end Jake Tonges also sustained an injury during the same match, requiring assistance to leave the field with two minutes remaining in the first half after he could not place weight on his right leg. The extent of Tonges's injury was not immediately confirmed.
