HAMPSHIRE BEAT BLAZE TO LEVEL WOMEN'S ONE-DAY CUP TABLE
Hampshire defeated The Blaze by seven wickets in the Women's One-Day Cup on 9 September 2026, securing an extra bonus point that brought them level at the top of the group table. Maia Bouchier scored 118, her fourth century of the summer, as Hampshire chased down The Blaze's total of 249-7 inside 40 overs. The victory means Hampshire have completed their 16 group matches and now await the outcome of The Blaze's final fixture against Essex on Friday to determine qualification for the final on 19 September.
Bouchier and Ella McCaughan opened the innings with a stand of 98 runs before McCaughan departed. A second-wicket partnership between Bouchier and Abi Norgrove, who scored 52, added 116 runs and took Hampshire to 214-1. Norgrove was then dismissed by Grace Ballinger and Bouchier followed shortly after, caught by Cassidy McCarthy, but Hampshire's path to victory was already secure. The Blaze's batting proved inconsistent, with opener Tammy Beaumont top-scoring with 56 as other batters failed to capitalise on strong starts.
If The Blaze lose to Essex, Hampshire will progress directly to the final and The Blaze will face an eliminator against the third-placed team. The Blaze require only one point from their remaining match to secure a spot in the showpiece. Elsewhere, Surrey defeated Warwickshire by 10 wickets with Kate Coppack taking 5-22, whilst Somerset beat Lancashire by five wickets, with Jess Hazell scoring an unbeaten 77 to keep themselves in contention for a top-three finish.
